About me
Greetings! My name is Janice Martinez, and I am an artist and photographer currently based in the beautiful state of Alaska. My passion for art began at a young age, and over the years, I have honed my skills in using graphite pencils, oil pastels, and contemporary photography techniques to produce stunning works of art.
I pursued a major in fashion design during my high school and college days. Later, I earned another Bachelor's degree in Psychology and counselling. My curiosity to learn and passion to bring positive changes in people's lives motivated me to pursue and earn a master’s degree in Learning Design Technology and continue in my educational journey in special education. Presently, I work as a special education resource teacher.
As an artist and photographer, I strive to capture the beauty and essence of the world around us in my work. My art reflects my passion for life and the joy I find in exploring new places and meeting new people. I hope that my art will inspire others to see the world in a new light and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us every day.
I describe my drawings as having a distinctive personal style that emanates joy and expresses a vibrant spirit and atmosphere. My portfolio includes a great volume of excellent graphite portraits and energetic, colorful paintings. I specialize in creating lifelike portraits of celebrities, public figures, and natural landscapes using my artistic skills.
Recently, my work has been displayed in an exhibition at the Bear Gallery in Fairbanks, Alaska.
